It doesn't have to cost a fortune to add a good piece of fitness equipment to a home gym. In fact, with the inclusion of one of many different cable home gyms available by exercise equipment manufacturers, the addition can be solid and fairly inexpensive.
A fitness home gym operates on pretty simple principles, but gives a nice workout in the process. Using different cables to add or remove resistance from a series of exercises, they help build muscle, stamina and increase fitness challenges to new levels without emptying wallets.
A good cable gym will provide an array of varying resistance levels. This home fitness machine works basically by providing resistance through a series of pull exercises that help strengthen and tone just about every major muscle group, depending on how a person uses them.
If you are in the market for a cable gym, look for machines that provide easy resistance changes for your exercises. A double pulley system is nice, too. Cables should be easily adjustable and offer a nice range of resistance. A decent example is a change of 10 to more than 50 pounds of resistance.
Make sure the cable fitness equipment you're considering for your home gym provides strong support for rigorous exercises. Steel framing is recommended as are grip bars and safety features such as non-slip surfaces. One of the pluses of good cable gyms is that they take up only a little bit of space and also provide for folding storage in addition to most models having very reasonable price tags. Some machines have a very small footprint, which is nice for working out in a cramped space. A good machine should also come with a fairly decent warranty and offers exercise potential for the arms and legs.
They're simple and inexpensive, but gyms incorporating cables make great additions to home fitness programs because of that. Simplicity doesn't mean inadequate in the case of one of these little powerhouses.
